LET ME TAKE YOU THROUGH A FORGOTTEN SIDE OF DUBROVNIK
WELCOME
LET ME INTRODUCE
Nice to meet you. My name is Đivo and I am a licensed English–speaking tour guide for the Dubrovnik area. I hold a degree in archaeology and history from the University of Zadar, which is also the oldest Croatian university, established at the end of the 14th century.
I was raised and live in Dubrovnik, a historical city which many consider an open–air museum. As I am passionate about my city and my profession, I decided to create a unique and exciting – archaeological tour!
In this exclusive tour I'm going to offer my knowledge in the historical and archaeological field for everyone who wants to know about military architecture, metallurgy, weaponry, trade and church history in medieval and post-medieval Dubrovnik.
Together, we will explore the interior of Minčeta fortress, as well as a hidden gem – an underground archaeological site of a 16th century foundry. Our archaeological adventure will continue on a spectacular walkway along the city walls. Also, this discovery tour will give us an opportunity to explore the interior of Bokar fortress. Our interpretative walk will finish with a visit to the medieval archaeological site of Benedictine nunneries and underground granaries.
There are so many reasons, but I’ll give you these 6:
1
Visiting these sights on an expert-guided tour makes a lot more sense because your archaeologist-guide can bring the past back to life.
2
During this insightful tour my commentaries will be accompanied by A3 sized expert drawn illustrations (reconstructions).
3
My two-hour tour is perfect for people who want a high-quality travel experience without spending a fortune.
4
This tour is quite comfortable even on the hottest day because, on our way, we will visit a couple of sights which act as natural „climatic shelters“.
5
This small-group tour limited to no more than 10 people ensures you receive personalized attention, so don't worry about losing on the experience in a huge crowd.
6
I've designed this unique tour with knowledge, effort and passion. The result of that is a great storyline which helps participants understand the archaeologist better and provides them with an authentic cultural enrichment experience.
